TY all of you for coming here today, it is nice to see people gathered together in the name of the Lord.

"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." Matt 18:20 (NKJ) Jesus is in our midst right now how about that.

Pray -F - Father bring to our attention everything you would have us glean and understand from your word today. Amen

\\Today we will looking in the book of Revelation not going deep into it. Primarily we are looking in Revelation concerning just these three topics. They are

The Fall of Babylon – The Mark of the Beast – the wonderful Promises made to the Overcoming believers. So who are the overcoming believers that’s you and I who have accepted Jesus in our hearts and are walking in his will and his ways and the good news concerning overcomers is, what the end results will be for those who are overcomes. When it comes to these 3 topics I emphasis we are looking at some of what God’s word has to say, certainly this won’t be conclusive of everything said about Babylon, the mark, or the promises.

God tells us in his written word, and his rhema word, he says to the church body, that he has made us to be the overcomers. And again this applies to every believer that has accepted Jesus in his, or her own heart, this includes you and I. As we look at Revelation we will see that he has made us, you and I, to be overcomers.

God covers many things in the book of Revelation but again our focus is on, the fall of the city of Babylon, the mark of the beast, and some of the promises that God has in store for those who are overcomers.

God has repeatedly told us this is coming soon. What!

The Fall of Babylon that great city.

Rev chapter 18 deals with the fall of Babylon and in verses 19 through 21 it says, I am reading now out of the (new king James version)

chapter 18: verse 19 "They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, 'Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.'

Notice that time period “in one hour”. That certainly implies fast!

Chapter 18 Verse 20 "Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!" and the next verse, verse 21 of chapter 18 verse 21 tells us Then a mighty angel took up a stone, like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. (NKJ)

The word Millstone in verse 21 - is a prophetic, symbolic, action indicating total destruction. Some of you may not have ever seen a millstone. It is a huge round stone made up with a flat surface on the outside circumstance and is as tall as or taller than most people in height and it very wide. People would lay their grain in front of it, and as the stone rolled the over the grain it would crushed the grain that was in front of it turning it into powder so to speak (flower if you will) so grandma could use it to make bread and pancakes. That remark is made especially for the descendants of grandma Forehand.

\\Back up one verse to Verse 20 the word Avenged is used. “God has avenged you on her!” Why! How does that apply? What have our leaders done? Have they imposed their will on other leaders in other countries of the world? Well the answer to that is a big, Yes!

\\Since when did God make the leaders of the United States the rulers of his universe? Actually, the fact is, HE DIDN’T!

So what have our leaders encouraged or done in and to other countries?

Well many things, but for starters in our parents generation they went into Vietnam, and what is Vietnam today, it is governed by Communism. The people are under great oppression, it is a dictatorship, all the people are oppressed, especially Christians, much human trafficking. Since then

Our military went into Afghanistan, and I realize they went in to get one man OBLaden but they didn’t stop there, they imposed their will on the Afghan people and when their military pulled out, the place turned into a total mess again, some say it is worse than it was in the beginning when they first went in there. Many, many lives were lost, not only the Afghan people but some of the best young American men and women were maimed and many, many others were killed. Same is true of many other countries that we imposed our will on and to no avail, and in the end, the result was, they also turned into a mess.

Look at Iraq, much destruction, so many lives lost and maimed, and now they even have fired missiles at Israel from Iraq.

Libya, they killed Gadfy and the head of the US consulate Christopher Stevens was also killed? And now the country is in disarray, there is no order, it is a total mess, people fled the country to Italy, and from there to other parts of the world, many drowned crossing the Mediterranean sea.

The various leaders of our country at one time or another have told Israel they must divide their land. The very land God gave them, their land.

Who are the United States leaders to tell them they must divide their land, God didn’t say so.

Who knows how many other things they have done in and to others, clandestine operations and so on. They are so numerous, we’ll never know.

Then we come to Ukraine. Russia said in the very beginning, in the very early stages of the conflict of the war, they said to the Ukrainians, we will pull our troupes out, if you will promise us you won’t join NATO.

The Russians have always been concerned about missile threats, and having them near her land borders.

Our leader at that time told the Ukrainian’s not to accept any offers of peace from Russia, our leader and those associated with him in Europe didn’t want that.

So instead our leaders supplied Ukraine with military equipment, guns, tanks, missiles and later on drones.

Some believe and say this Ukraine war situation is just a proxy war between NATO the United States and Russia. This is true, in his speech to NATO members on 7-9-2024 president Biden said "we will win in Ukraine" he very pointedly used the word "WE"

And Again, God never made the United States of America the ruler of his universe.

Remember when Russia started building missile silos in Cuba back in the 1960’s when president Kennedy was in office? Cuba, 90 miles off our coast of Florida, we didn’t want missiles near our country? Our leader at that time told the Russians to get them out, or else. Russia pulled back and got out.

We didn’t want Russian missiles near us, and obliviously, the Russians don’t want the west to have missiles near their country. Actually when the German wall came down we made an agreement that we would not push our influence any farther east but later on, as time went on, further down the road one of our leaders reneged on that agreement.

There comes a time when God gets his belly full of what is going on and now we have been warned, that we, as a nation, will see the consequences of our past behavior, the destruction of Babylon. But realize, it has to happen because it is written in God’s word, and God’s word will be fulfilled. If God didn’t fulfill his word, he would be a liar and we all know God isn’t a liar.

Again, did God make the leaders of the United States the rulers of his universe, the answer to that is an obvious NO.

Now concerning who is the Babylon of the bible there are many, many various different views. One view is this.

Dr. Coleman Cox Phillips, with many letters after his name B.Th., B.A., M.Ed., D.D. Has a International Teaching Ministry and is an Author in Clifton, VA he comments about these verses concerning Babylon with a Dispensational Interpretation: He believes the Babylon of the bible is Rome because it was in the center of power back in 68 ad.

God’s word says,

Rev 18: the first 2 verses and I am reading verse,

1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.

2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. (KJV)

And in Rev 14:8 it reads

Verse 8 reads And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication." (NKJ)

Rev 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. (KJV) down to verse 21

Rev 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. (KJV)

God has revealed through his (rhema) word to this church body, that Babylon is New York City. We’ll mention a couple of references out of 75 plus times over a period of 20 plus years that God has brought this up to our church body.

Back in 2011 well over a dozen years ago this word came forth on Feb

-27- of 2011 am service etc and I am reading quote Many are saying that New York City will never be attacked again and yet my word plainly declares that in twenty-four hours Babylon shall be destroyed. Wake up, wake up, for the time is far later than you realize etc

The last time God brought this up to our church body was

Back in November, Russia struck Ukraine with a single Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, which they named "Oreshnik." The missile had Multiple Independent Re-Entry Vehicles (MIRV) totaling six (6) warheads.

Video of the strike was widely circulated worldwide and it is utterly shocking:

What was most stunning about this strike is that the six warheads released multiple "Bomblets" before they impacted. That's why there are six, separate "showers" of fire from the sky . . . the bomblets came down ahead of the warheads which carried them, and those bomblets and warheads were moving so fast, they generated enough heat to look like fire coming from the sky.

Ukraine was ruthless in their censorship of any photos or videos of the strike location. They arrested anyone trying to take pictures or videos, and seized any equipment that may have contained such images.

All that ends right now.

Partisans in Dnepropetrovsk released this photograph of a man standing at the bottom of a crater on the site where the Soviet-built Yuzhmash military plant formerly stood. It was the plant hit by Russia's Oreshnik missile. ONE missile.

Russia’s hypersonic Oreshnik missile vaporized the surface structures and penetrated to a depth of several stories underground, destroying the tunnel complex beneath the plant.

The most stunning fact: The warheads and bomblets carried NO EXPLOSIVE CHARGES! ! ! ! What you see here, was done solely and exclusively by the kinetic energy of the hypersonic projectiles coming out of the sky.

Imagine if they loaded explosives into those missiles?

Worst of all, there is NO DEFENSE for such missiles. No anti-missile system anywhere on this planet can intercept them and no anti-missile system can stop them.

Remember, our intent here today is to very briefly touch on three topics, Babylon, the mark, and then some of the promises that God has in store for the overcoming believers.

Do believers Take it, or Don’t they take it?

Take Note: When it comes to comments, the things that I am commenting about, they are always taken from others. Nothing, absolutely nothing I have to say is original. Even if it has been given by the Spirit, many times, chances are, the Spirit has also shared it with others. I want you to know I don't have a corner on the market of anything that I am talking about, nothing original. I have either seen it, or read it, or heard about it from others.

\\This is also a good time to bring up the fact that the book of Revelation is not in chronological order. As an example of this, Jesus was born in chapter 12:5, then he was exalted (worthy is the lamb) in chapter 5 verses 8-12. Ok.

The mark What has God’s word got to say about the Mark?

For that we’ll go to Revelation chapter 13 verses 16, 17 & 18 and I’m reading now out of the (NKJ)

13:16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads.

Who is the he this verse is referring to? It is the beast, the anti-christ.

and reading verse 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Still in Chapter 13 at Verse 18 “Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (NKJ)

Now for more clarification we will read these verses from the Living bible.

The living bible is paraphrased meaning just as it is labeled, that is a Thought for a Thought bible.

Revelation 13: verses 16-18 (NLT)

Reading verse 16 He required everyone-- great and small, rich and poor, slave and free-- to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead.

Verse 17 And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.

Verse 18 Wisdom is needed to understand this. Let the one who has understanding solve the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666. that was the (New Living Translation)

\\When we go to the next chapter in Revelation we find out what the final outcome will be for the devil and those who take his mark.

Rev 14:8- verses 8 down through verse 11 And another angel followed, saying, "Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she has made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication."

9 Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand,

We are at R 14:10 "he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.

11 "And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." (NKJ)

So as we talk about the mark, think about this, you as a Christian believer have been sealed by God. God’s word says,

in Ephesians chapter 1:13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, (NKJ)

Note: the verse says, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise

Further on in Ephesians chapter 4 verse 30 we read

Eph 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (NKJ)

Remember, you, Christian believer, are already sealed by God.

\\So if a Christian were to take the mark of the beast in my estimation he is denying God. He already has God’s seal on him or her now, and he or she would be taking the evil ones mark and accepting the devil over God.

Remember the example that many have given about water, you can’t have fresh water and salt water coming out of the same faucet at the same time.

Satan can’t create anything so he takes what God does and perverts it.

\\The Holy Spirit has warned this church body about not taking the mark of the beast over 135 times during a period of 19 + years.

On the website A Talk With The Father, if you chose the Other Topics Page, there is a page titled Mark of the Beast, and the references are all listed there one by one, date by date, when the Holy Spirit spoke to the church body, and what was said about the mark of the beast, and the many warnings about not taking the Mark of the Beast. Out of the 100 thirty 5 times, I’ll read 2 examples? The first example was on

7-4-2001 (that is over 20+ years ago) at Campmeeting 2001 in the Evening service and I am reading, You shall notice and recognize the monetary system as they begin to unite it together all over the world for the cashless society or the mark of the beast. You shall see these things, etc

\\For a moment let’s take a look, a little SIDE TRIP if you will, off these three topics that we are talking about and we will see what Gods word has to says about the eventual outcome of the beast, the devil (Satan) and his followers. This is what God’s word has to say about the devils fate.

Rev 14:11 "And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." (NKJ)

Rev chapter 19: verses 19 & 20 & 21 I am still reading from the (NKJ) version

Chapter 19 Verse 19 And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse, and against His army. (“the him who sat on the horse” that’s Jesus of course)

20 Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Chapter 19 Verse 21 And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.

\\And continuing on in Rev chapter 20 the devil, the leader of those who took his mark, his and their fate is told. Still reading from the (NKJ) the next chapter

20: verse 1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;

3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more END

Lets read these same verses from the living bible (NLT) again the Living Bible is paraphrased, the word paraphrased meaning among other things, To restate using different words, especially to clarify.

Revelation chapter 19: verses 19-21 Then I saw the beast gathering the kings of the earth and their armies in order to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army.

20 And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast-- miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.

Rev 19:21 Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came out of the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And all the vultures of the sky gorged themselves on the dead bodies. (NLT)

\\Continuing on into the next chapter, chapter 20 the first three verses still in the Living bible

Rev Chapter 20 Verse 1 {The Thousand Years--} Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand.

2 He seized the dragon-- that old serpent, the Devil, Satan-- and bound him in chains for a thousand years.

\\That was quite a side trip, but it is important for us to know, that in the end, the devil gets his just reward.

Have you have even heard some people say, I don’t believe there is a devil? Well they can say that, but that’s not what God’s word says.

\\Now as for us, you and I that have accepted Jesus in our hearts and are walking in his will and in his ways, and who are the overcomers, we have promises. We are at the point of our last topic.

THE OVERCOMERS the Promises The GOOD NEWS FOR BELIEVERS

\\Jesus had John write letters to the seven churches in Asia and had John give them his message. He pointed out to the seven 7 churches, the things that they were doing that displeased him, and the things that they were doing that did please him. The things that were displeasing to God, he told them to make a turn around and in the end, the result would be, that they would be overcomers. We will look at what he tells the 7 churches, and what they will have after they have followed his directions and become overcomers. Our focus here is ONLY on the overcomers those who inherit the promises.

It starts out with the Church at Ephesus

Rev chapter 2: verse 1 "To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, 'These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:

\\Then dropping down to verse 7 in his letter to the church at Ephesus God says:

Rev 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."'

Next --------- Jesus addresses the church at Smyrna

Rev chapter 2:verse 8 "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, 'These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life.

Then God gives them their positive and negative points, and gives them directions and sums it up by saying:

Rev 2:11 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death."'

Next verse ------

Rev chapter 2: verse 12 "And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write, 'These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword:

Then God reveals to them their positive and negative points and gives them directions and sums it up by saying in verse 17:

Rev 2:17 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."'

Next verse, verse 18 ----------------------------

Rev 2:18 "And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, 'These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass:

Then God tells them their positive and negative points, and gives them directions and sums it up by saying:

Rev 2:26 "And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations--

To the next church ----------------------

Rev chapter 3: verse 1 "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, 'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

Then Jesus goes on to tell them their positive and negative points and gives them directions and sums it up by saying:

Rev 3:5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Next ---------------------

Rev 3:7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, "He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens":

Then God gives them their positive and negative points and gives them directions and sums it up by saying:

Rev 3:12 "He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Next the last church, the church at Laodicea ------------------------

Rev 3:14 "And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

Then Jesus gives them their positive and negative points and gives them directions and sums it up by saying:

Rev 3:21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (NKJ)

\\These are wonderful promises, and what makes them so wonderful is, they are also for us, WE ARE the church here and now, the bride of Christ. Praise God!

So many promises made to the 7 churches and they apply to all overcoming believers throughout all the ages, and to those believers of today the ones walking in God’s will and his ways.

To sum up some of these things we have just read we will review the promises,

eat from the tree of life, - He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death."- I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. - I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name

I will give power over the nations: overcomes - shall be clothed in white garments, - I will NOT blot out his name from the Book of Life; - I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. - I will - grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

How about that, these are wonderful promises, given by God, to all overcoming believers and I euphemize the word all. ALL, all believers.

\\And now still continuing on talking about The Promises These are Some more words God gave John in the book of Revelation to the churches, the believers.

These are promises God has in store for the overcoming believers. That is you and I.

These Promises are so great, and an encouragement to our hearts, you’re going to be blessed as we take a look at more of them.

The vision Jesus gave John in chapter 21 I am reading now,

Verse 1 of chapter 21 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Verse 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God.

continuing on with verse 4 of chapter 21 "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."

Chapter 21 verse 5 Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are true and faithful."

6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.

7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. (NKJ)

Some time we should all go through the word of God and look at the things our inheritance includes, the promises are numerous.

\\Remember By the power of the Holy Spirit God has told us the people of his church body here that we are overcomers. he has told us this over and over and over again.

Rev chapter 21: the first 7 verses 1-7

1 {The New Jerusalem--} Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone.

3 I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, the home of God is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them.

\\For us living here on earth here today what an encouragement that verse is. Imagine living where there is no more death, sorrow, crying or pain.

\\At some point in life most of us have pinched our finger in a door or something else and it really hurt. Guess what, God says there will be no more pain. How about that!

On in chapter 21 to verse 5 And the one sitting on the throne said, "Look, I am making all things new!" And then he said to me, "Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true."

Chapter 21:6 And he also said, "It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega-- the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give the springs of the water of life without charge!

This is a wonderful promise, this is a good time to, praise God. The words in verse 7 says quote “will inherit all these blessings”

In CONCLUSION We have read what some of the things written in Revelation have to say about the fall of spiritual Babylon and a couple of rhema words concerning Babylon. We have taken note of the things our country has been involved with in recent years, and the results of those actions, and in most cases the end results were not all that good. Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya. Also some of our leaders have told Israel they must divide their land, the very land God gave them.

We talked about our involvement with the Ukrainian, Russian war.

And then we went into some of the things God has to say about, the mark of the beast warning us not to take it and what the end results will be for those who do take it. R 13:16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads.

And what God says the results will be for those that do take the mark.

Rev 14:11 "And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." (NKJ)

We read what The Devils final outcome is, that is he is cast into the bottomless pit, and is shut up, and a seal will be set on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more

Then we read the wonderful promises given to us who are the overcomers

START* THE NEW JERUSALEM Chapter 21 of Revelation

In Revelation chapter 21 Jesus gives John a vision of the holy city, heaven referred to as the New Jerusalem. John describes his vision of the city. We will take a look at that.

Down in chapter 21 verse 10 in the (NKJ) And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

Verse 11 having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.

Verse 12 of chapter 21 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates, and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13 three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west.

14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. (NKJ)

21 The twelve gates were made of pearls-- each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass.

22 No temple could be seen in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

23 And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light.

24 The nations of the earth will walk in its light, and the rulers of the world will come and bring their glory to it.

25 Its gates never close at the end of day because there is no Night.

One of the many things that caught my attention was the gates were made of a single pearl The only pearls I’ve ever seen came from a clam and were on ladies jewelry, earrings or necklace. Can you imagine a city gate make of one single pearl.

Sounds beautiful, and we as the overcoming believers are going to see it and live there.

He states in his comments about John’s vision by asking a question in reference to Chapter 21: verse 10 and the rest of the verses. He says

“Why is it necessary to have walls around the New Jerusalem?

The verse and going on to describe Jasper stone, (the diamond) and it had a wall great and high, and it had 12 gates and at the gates 12 angels and names written in the gates which are names of the twelve tribes that are the children of Israel and the wall of the city had twelve foundations and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the lamb, and he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city and the gates and so on. I am just passing down from that and come down to verse eighteen and the building of the wall, it was jasper that’s diamonds and the city was pure gold like clear glass.

Now may I say to you, just that there is a picture, a very dramatic picture and it’s really difficult for interpretation to quite understand just how it looks. And I’m not sure that I understand just exactly how it looks, it is certainly awe inspiring.

And it actually to me, it is the wedding ring of the church. This is where we are going to live throughout eternity and I think as you get off and look at this city as John did, what he is looking at is a beautiful wedding ring these thick high walls around the city. They’re not for protection, they’re not needed for protection, and they are diamonds what is it? You have the streets of the city are of pure gold they make the bands you see that goes around the finger and the diamond, the walls that are so high are the settings that’s in the rings, the gates we are told elsewhere are pearls.

What a beautiful piece of jewelry this new Jerusalem is, and it’s like looking upon a glorious big wedding ring that actually is fifteen hundred miles long and I tell you, and a big diamond setting in the walls, isn’t that a beautiful thing? And I think that’s the picture that is before us here and it’s actually is too big for any of us to grasp but it certainly ought to be breath taking for those of us today who are Christians. Because there is nothing quite like this described anywhere. No man has ever conceived anything quite as great as this is, comments J. Vernon McGee.

They must do so in the confidence that after their victorious sufferings they will reign with him. And he further remarks

The mainspring of Christian hope and courage is the certainty that the enemy has been defeated and is doomed, and that followers of the Lamb (Jesus) are not fighting a losing cause.

PINE GAP READIES FOR U.S. NUCLEAR WAR

With Australians still adjusting to the new AUKUS military agreement, the United States has been quietly expanding and refocussing its satellite surveillance base at Pine Gap, preparing it to fight a nuclear war against China.

The rapid expansion of the Pine Gap satellite surveillance base near Alice Springs, from 35 to 45 satellite dishes, is designed to give the US the edge in a potential nuclear war with China.

Where desert oaks and spinifex tufts once baked in the Central Australian sun, three new white domes have mushroomed in a 14 hectare clearing along the western edge of the US’s ‘most important surveillance base’ in the world.

Under huge plastic radomes, three of Pine Gap’s ten new satellite dishes have been built to receive information from a new generation of US spy satellites that bring a heightened level of surveillance of China’s nuclear missile launch sites at a time of increasing confrontation between China, and the US and its allies.

Thermal imaging satellites presently used by the Pine Gap base are able to detect rocket and missile launches in the battlefields of Gaza and Ukraine, as I have earlier reported, but the greatest interest of the new satellite dishes at the base are missile launches from China.

A new generation of ‘eyes-in-the-sky’, known as Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) satellites, will soon be launched by the US military to augment the existing satellites of the Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS). These satellites are designed to detect the thermal signatures of rocket and missile launches, using immensely sensitive infra-red sensors.

The rush to catch up

The US Defense Department’s ‘Space Force’ is poised to launch five new ballistic missile early warning infra-red sensor tracking satellites. The first launch had been planned for 2025, but technical difficulties have seen it delayed until 2026. Three of the five new OPIR satellites will go into geostationary orbit at 35,000 kms altitude over the equator, and two will orbit the poles.

The new Pine Gap dishes will use these OPIR satellites acting as ‘spotters’ to better detect heat signatures from ballistic missiles at the earliest stages of launch, to then send this data to low orbit tracking satellites which aim then to guide the targeting of the launch locations and of the incoming missiles.

They will aim to defeat the latest hi-tech manoeuvrable ballistic and hypersonic missiles which have been developed by China and Russia. As Declassified Australia reported in depth in 2022, the US has no present infallible defence against hypersonic missiles, which can reach speeds of 12,500 kph and carry either conventional or nuclear warheads.

The US has no present infallible defence against hypersonic missiles – developing new surveillance satellites therefore became urgent.

It became evident to US military planners that the older SBIRS satellites were not up to dealing with the advanced hypersonic missiles – developing new surveillance satellites therefore became urgent. As the new satellites were being developed to face the new hypersonic threat, new satellite dishes and electronics on the ground were also needed. That’s why they need to upgrade Pine Gap.

So begins the new arms race

US planning to counter new generation hypersonic missiles gained impetus when in 2017 Russia announced their nuclear capable hypersonic aero-ballistic air-to-surface missile, the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal. These missiles saw their first use in a battlefield when Russia fired two into western Ukraine in March 2022, to devastating effect.

China began testing its DF-ZF hypersonic glide missile in 2013. Missile defence experts had predicted it would not be able to be deployed until at least 2036, but China introduced the DF-ZF into service in 2020.

Meanwhile, the US has been rushing to develop its own hypersonic missiles. The Pentagon’s 2025 budget request for hypersonic research is US$6.9 billion, up from US$4.7 billion in 2023.

Australia’s Defence Department allocated $9.3 billion in 2020 for high-speed long-range strike and missile defence including for hypersonic development, test and evaluation. Development of hypersonic technology with the US has also been made a priority in 2023 under Pillar Two of the controversial, and largely secret, AUKUS military agreement.

The accelerating arms race in hypersonic missiles and anti-hypersonic defensive technology was unleashed upon the world following the US unilateral decision in 2002 under George W. Bush to withdraw from the 1972 Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty between the Soviet Union and US.

The ensuing weapons competition has pushed aside risk-mitigation measures, such as expanding the New START nuclear arms reduction treaty, negotiating new multilateral arms control agreements, undertaking transparency and confidence-building measures, and puts in jeopardy a cornerstone of world peace, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

Amplifying the risk of nuclear war

The OPIR infrared detection satellites that Pine Gap will soon be using, will detect missile launches far more rapidly and accurately than at present, allowing more reliable US targeting of launch locations and potentially in-flight missiles. The aim would be to reduce retaliatory strikes by China should such a nuclear war be started.

This enhanced ability may encourage the US military planners to think they could win a nuclear war, if they think they could destroy most of China’s nuclear missiles.

This may sound good to them, but it has an immense downside. It may increase the likelihood of China, if it feels existentially threatened, making its first nuclear response its biggest, because it may not have a chance for a second. Escalation from a limited nuclear exchange may rapidly spin out of control.

Unlike the USA’s most recent Nuclear Posture Review which asserted its right to a ‘first nuclear strike’ in “extreme circumstances”, China has a ‘no first strike’ nuclear weapon policy.

“There is no way that the Chinese can win… unless they take out command and control systems, unless they can degrade the surveillance capabilities that link the sensors with the aircraft carriers for example.”

“That’s the very first step, to make those American platforms blind, deaf and dumb. It’s the only way that those relatively primitive Chinese capabilities would have any hope against American carrier battle groups.”

A secret intelligence assessment reported in the Defence Department’s 2009 Force Posture Review made clear the official view:

“Defence [Department] thinking is that in the event of a conflict with the United States, China would attempt to destroy Pine Gap.” – Appendix, Defence Force Posture Review, 2009

Professor Richard Tanter, Australia’s key Pine Gap researcher, has pointed out China’s targeting of Pine Gap in a potential conflict involving the US, due in great part to the base’s use of infra-red detection satellites to monitor Chinese missile launches:

“Pine Gap… remains a likely priority target for a Chinese missile strike in the event of a major China-United States conflict, both because of its role as a remote ground station for early warning satellites in the Defence Support Program and Space Based Infra Red Satellite systems, and its larger role as a command, control, downlink, and processing facility for US signals intelligence satellites in geo-stationary orbit.”

Updated details on the capabilities of the satellite radomes of Pine Gap have been published in March by Prof Tanter and Bill Robinson, for the Nautilus Institute for Security and Sustainability.

“The joint US–Australia intelligence facility at Pine Gap near Alice Springs will be by far China’s most important and time-urgent nuclear target.” – Paul Dibb, 2023.

“[This is] because of its ability to give the US instant, real-time warning of a Chinese nuclear attack, the precise number of missiles, their trajectory and their likely targets.”

There are other surveillance and communication bases in Australia used by the US that are also most likely to be targeted in a nuclear exchange. These are the surveillance and communication bases at Kojarina near Geraldton and at North West Cape near Exmouth – some also suggest the new US AirForce B-52 nuclear bomber squadron base under construction in Darwin will join these, as the four prime Australian targets in any war-planning by China.

Bringing the risk back home

In an environment of threat and escalation, of fear and suspicion, the prospect of war breaking out between the US and China could rise rapidly to the point of a counter-strike by China on US assets in Australia.

A hypersonic nuclear missile, if fired at Pine Gap from a Chinese submarine in international waters off the west coast, flying at up to 15,000 km/h, would reach its target in a matter of a few minutes from launch.

A nuclear ground blast at Pine Gap would cause a gigantic cloud of super-heated dust and earth to rapidly rise above the destroyed base. The dust from this huge mushroom cloud would contaminate huge expanses of the Australian inland, and would likely spread for thousands of kilometres.

At the time of preparing his report, the Cold War was in its last desperate stages and the very real threat to the American base in Australia then was if a nuclear broke out between the US and the Soviet Union.

His conclusions are worth bearing in mind today in responding to the acknowledged risks of hosting US bases.

“If on the day [of a nuclear strike] it was blowing from anywhere in the southwest quarter, Alice Springs would be enveloped in the plume of radiation at greater than the lethal dose,” he wrote.

“Most people not evacuated within one hour would receive fatal radiation doses.”
