WELCOME – Greetings to one and all, it’s a nice day today. It’s nice to see people gathered together in the name of the Lord thank you all for coming. No matter if the group is small or large God’s word says "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." Matt 18:20 (NKJ) Jesus is in our midst today. Thank you Lord for being here today.
It’s so nice to come and be in the presence of the Lord where his Holy Spirit moves and gives encouragement, guidance knowledge and understanding, his Spirit makes crooked paths straight again, amen.
A big thank you to those involved in the worship for leading us into Gods presence. That’s what God has called for all of us to do, to praise and worship him for all his goodness, to praise him with all our hearts.
Ps 147:1 says Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. (NKJ)
If we have nothing else to praise him for we must remember he has saved us from the pits of hell. AMEN
Father - Let us glean from your word and give us understanding, and insight into all you would have us know and understand. Amen
THE BIBLE SAYS THAT EVERY BELIEVER HAS A MEASURE OF FAITH. ROMANS 12:3 THE LAST PART OF THE VERSE SAYS “God has dealt, to each one, a measure of faith.” (NKJ)
SO WE HAVE SOMETHING TO BUILD ON. LET'S BUILD ON IT. BIBLICAL HOPE RESTS ON GOD'S PROMISES
HOPE IS AN EXTENSION OF FAITH .. FUTURE TENSE
FAITH IS PRESENT POSSESSION ... PRESENT TENSE!
THE LATE CHARLES CAPPS SAID, "FAITH IS STORED IN GOD'S WORD."
I AGREE WITH CHARLES. HOW ABOUT YOU? LET'S LOOK IN GOD'S WORD AND COME TO OUR OWN CONCLUSIONS. WE WILL BE USING 90% SCRIPTURE AND LESS THAN 10% OF WHAT MAN HAS TO SAY. SO LET'S MAKE GOD'S WORD OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE. WE CAN STAND ON GOD'S WORD.
EDWIN COLE SAYS: "KNOW GOD'S WORD. HE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HIS WORD."
Proverbs 3:5 says, [Trust] in the LORD with all your heart, and [lean not on your own understanding;] (NKJ)
THAT CAN BE DIFFICULT. BUT IT IS VERY IMPORTANT, LETS READ IT AGAIN---- 3:5
DUMP YOUR THOUGHTS AND PUT GOD'S THOUGHTS IN YOUR MIND!! HOW?
THROUGH THE READING AND HEARING OF HIS WORD, WE CAN DEVELOP AND GROW IN THE LORD.
Habakkuk 2:4 THE SECOND HALF OF THE VERSE SAYS. but the just shall live by his faith. (NKJ)
BELIEVER -- THIS FAITH WALK IS TO BE OUR LIFE STYLE!
NOW LET'S MOVE OVER TO THE NEW TESTAMENT THE BOOK OF MATTHEW.
JESUS IS SPEAKING TO HIS DISCIPLES IN MATTHEW CHAPTER 17 Matt 17: verse 15 and following; a man brings his son for deliverance
verse 15 "Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water.
16 "So I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him." (NKJ)
AND AT VERSE 18 WE READ And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.
AFTER THIS HAPPENS THE NEXT VERSE
Matt 17:19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast him out?" (NKJ)
AND IN FOLLOWING VERSE 20 JESUS EXPLAINS
20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your [unbelief]; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
THAT WAS THE (NKJ) NOW THAT LAST VERSE, VERSE 20 IN THE LIVING BIBLE IS STATED THIS WAY-- Matt 17:20
20 "You didn't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I assure you, even if you had faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." (NLT)
JESUS MAKES A COMMENT IN THE NEXT CHAPTER SAYING
THIS NOW IS Matt chapter 18:VERSE 19 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. (NKJ)
AGAIN JESUS GOES ON TEACHING HIS DISCIPLES MORE THIS TIME IN CHAPTER 21 IN VERSE 21 THIS TIME FROM THE LIVING BIBLE
Matt 21:21 Then Jesus told them, "I assure you, if you have faith and don't doubt, you can do things like this and much more. You can even say to this mountain, 'May God lift you up and throw you into the sea,' and it will happen. (NLT)
THIS IS MOUNTAIN MOVING FAITH [IF] YOU DON'T DOUBT.
NOW AGAIN IN THE NEXT GOSPEL THE GOSPEL OF MARK CHAPTER 9 AND DOWN TO VERSE 23 JESUS REMARKS
23 Jesus said to him, "If you can believe, [all things are possible] to him who believes." (NKJ)
AND MOVING AHEAD TWO CHAPTERS IN MARK WE REED Mark 11:23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever [says] to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he [says] will come to pass, he will have whatever he [says].
THE LORD POINTED OUT TO KENNETH E. HAGIN THAT THIS VERSE MENTIONS [BELIEVE] ONCE AND [SAYS] THREE TIMES. SO SPEAKING TO THE PROBLEM OR WHATEVER, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO GOD, AND IF IT IS IMPORTANT TO GOD, IT SHOULD BE IMPORTANT TO US.
IF WE ARE STANDING IN FAITH ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD MOST OF THE TIME WE WILL WANT TO SPEAK OUT LOUD, VOCALIZING WHAT WE ARE STANDING IN FAITH FOR AND BELIEVING FOR.
THE FOLLOWING VERSE THE VERY NEXT VERSE Mark 11:24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, [believe that you receive them, and you will have them.] (NKJ)
NOW OVER IN THE NEXT GOSPEL THIS TIME TO THE GOSPEL OF LUKE – MANY OF THESE VERSES THAT WE ARE LOOKING AT IN THE GOSPELS ARE QUOTE, UNQUOTE JESUS SPEAKING. IN SOME BIBLES THESE VERSES ARE IN RED LETTERS.
Luke 17:6 So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. (NKJ)
NOW ON TO THE NEXT GOSPEL THE GOSPEL OF JOHN TO CHAPTER 14 THIS IS JESUS SPEAKING
John 14:14 "If you ask [anything] in My name, I will do it. (NKJ)
IN JOHN THE NEXT CHAPTER 15 WE REED John 15:7 "If you [abide in Me,] [and My words abide in you,] you will ask what you desire, and [it shall be done for you.] (NKJ)
NEXT CHAPTER IN JOHN, this time John 16:23 "And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. (NKJ)
THESE ARE VERY POWERFUL PROMISES THAT WE HAVE GONE OVER.
AS WE READ ALONG, WE RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT OUR LIFESTYLE IS TO BE. OVER IN ROMANS WE READ, Romans 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."
AGAIN CONFIRMATION ---- THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH --
THIS FAITH WALK BELIEVER IS TO BE YOURS AND MY, - OUR LIFE STYLE
IN GOD'S WORD HE GIVES US BACKGROUND FOR OPERATING IN FAITH, THIS VERSE SPEAKING OF ABRAHAM IT TELLS US
WE ARE STILL IN THE BOOK OF ROMANS, ROMANS 4:17 QUOTE (as it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations") in the presence of Him whom he believed-- [God,] who gives life to the dead and [calls those things which do not exist as though they did;] (NKJ)
SAY WHAT YOU WANT TO COME TO PASS. SPEAK IT INTO EXISTENCE. MAKE SURE IT LINES UP WITH GOD'S WORD. MOST EVERYONE KNOWS THIS VERSE BUT IT IS GOOD TO GO OVER THESE THINGS.
Romans 10:17 So then [faith comes by] hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (NKJ)
WHAT ARE WE DOING RIGHT NOW? WE ARE READING GOD'S WORD. "THE WORD" IS ENTERING OUR BODIES THROUGH THE EYE GATE. AS WE ARE READING OUT LOUD, IT'S COMING THROUGH THE EAR GATE ALSO, HOPEFULLY PENETRATING OUR MINDS AND HEARTS.
Romans 12:3c THE LAST PART OF THE VERSE SAYS, God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. (NKJ)
WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO BUILD ON AND WE ARE DOING THAT RIGHT NOW. WE ARE TO MAKE THIS FAITH, OUR WALK, OUR LIFESTYLE.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:7 SAYS For we walk by faith, not by sight (NKJ)
Galatians 5:6 THE SECOND HALF OF THE VERSE SAYS, but faith working through love. (NKJ)
NOTICE FAITH AND LOVE ARE INTERCONNECTED INTERESTING
IN FIRST TIMOTHY WE READ
1 Timothy 6:12 the first part of the verse: Fight the good fight of faith, (NKJ)
APPARENTLY THE THINGS WE ARE BELIEVING GOD FOR ARE NOT GOING TO JUST DROP IN OUR LAP EVERY TIME. THERE ARE GOING TO BE INSTANCES IN YOURS AND MY LIFE WHEN WE WILL NEED TO TAKE A STAND, IT CAN A BATTLE.
BUT GOD'S WORD SAYS, WE ARE THE WINNERS---- " THAT WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERS " ROMANS 8:37 AND I’LL READ
Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things [we are more than conquerors] through Him who loved us. (NKJ)
IN HEBREWS 6:12 WE ARE INSTRUCTED Hebrews 6:12 QUOTE that you do not become sluggish, but [imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.]
FAITH PEOPLE INHERIT THE PROMISES IN THIS BOOK, THE BIBLE, GOD’S WORD. WE HAVE GOD'S WORD ON IT.
TESTIMONIES. IF SOMEONE GIVES A TESTIMONY HERE IN CHURCH ON HOW THEY HAVE SUCCEEDED IN BEING AN OVERCOMER, YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET THEM ASIDE. AND ASK THEM HOW THEY DID IT. THIS VERSE SAY’S, IMITATE AND BACK IN THE BOOK OF HEBREWS CHAPTER 10 WE READ
Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for [he is faithful] that promised;) (KJV)
HE IS A FAITHFUL GOD. AMEN. HE WANTS TO DO GOOD THINGS FOR HIS CHILDREN.... IN HEBREWS THE SAME CHAPTER DROPING DOWN TO VERSE 38 WE READ
Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith; but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him." (NKJ)
BELIEVERS NEVER QUIT WALKING YOUR FAITH WALK. GOD LOVES IT WHEN YOU STAND IN FAITH ON HIS WORD AND BELIEVE HIM.
WE DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE DICTIONARY FOR THE DEFINITION OF THE WORD FAITH. GOD DEFINES WHAT FAITH IS RIGHT HERE IN THE NEXT CHAPTER, CHAPTER 11 IN HEBREWS.
Hebrews 11:1 Now [faith is] the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
IF WE DON’T HAVE FAITH IN THE SAME CHAPTER, GOD SAYS
DOWN TO THE 6TH VERSE Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God [must believe] that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (NKJ)
I BELIEVE EVERY ONE WANTS TO PLEASE GOD. AMEN!
WALK THE FAITH WALK, WITHOUT WAVERING, FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, WITHOUT WAVERING.
James 1:6 SAYS THIS But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. THIS IS THE (NKJV) THAT WE HAVE BEEN READING.
STAND. DON'T BE MOVED. STAND IN FAITH ON THE WORD OF GOD.
NEXT CHAPTER IN JAMES
James 2:20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? (NKJ)
PUT YOUR FAITH INTO ACTION, SPEAKING IS A TYPE OF ACTION
PRAY THE PRAYER OF FAITH. AND BEFORE YOU PRAY THE PRAYER OF FAITH, PURPOSE IN YOUR HEART THAT YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WAIVER. YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE A FIRM STAND, IN FAITH, ON GOD’S WORD.
James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. (NKJ)
AND THE NEXT VERSE, VERSE 15 TELLS US WHAT THE RESULTS WILL BE.
James 5:15 And [the prayer of faith will] save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. (NKJ)
THIS IS A PROMISE -- THE PRAYER OF FAITH WILL SAVE THE SICK
SO FAR WE HAVE QUOTED SCRIPTURES. LET'S CHANGE DIRECTION A LITTLE BIT AND GO TO SOME EXAMPLES IN THE WORD.
BIBLE FAITH EXAMPLES, IN MATTHEW
THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD AND JESUS IS PASSING BY AND SHE SAYS THIS, AND DOES IT. READING THREE VERSES, VERSES 20,21 AND 22 IN MATTHEW CHAPTER 9
Matthew 9:20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment.
Verse 21 For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well." (NKJ) NOW THAT IS FAITH.
Matt 9: verse 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your [faith] has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour. (NKJ)
ROY HICKS SAYS, "FAITH THAT BELIEVES IS FAITH THAT APPROPRIATES."
STAYING IN CHAPTER 9 AND DROPPING DOWN TO THE 27TH VERSE, THROUGH VERSE 30 WE READ A STORY ABOUT TWO BLIND MEN
Matt 9:27 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, "Son of David, have mercy on us!"
28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." (NKJ)
TAKE NOTE, THESE MEN DIDN'T COME UP WITH ANY ELOQUENT SPEECH OR ELABORATE SAYING THE BLIND MEN JUST SAID "YES LORD" NEXT VERSE TELLS US,VERSE 29
Matt 9:29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, ["According to your faith] let it be to you." (NKJ)
VERSE 30 SAYS 30a And their eyes were opened. (NKJ) PRAISE GOD.
ANOTHER JESUS STORY THIS TIME IN THE GOSPEL OF LUKE
Luke 7:2 And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die. (NKJ)
HOW ABOUT THIS, YOU HAVE TO BE CONSIDERABLY SICK TO BE READY TO DIE.
7:3 So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant. (NKJ)
WHEN IT GETS DOWN TO THE POINT OF LIFE OR DEATH, YOU CAN GET VERY SERIOUS WITH GOD.
Luke 7:6 Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. (NKJ)
THE NEXT verse 7 explains the centurion's thoughts, QUOTE "Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But [say the word, and my servant will be healed.] (NKJ)
THE CENTURION GOES ON TO EXPLAIN IN THE NEXT VERSE
8 "For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it." (NKJ)
JESUS LIKED THE FAITH WORDS COMING OUT OF THE MOUTH OF THE CENTURION. BECAUSE WE READ IN VERSE 9
Luke 7:9 When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned around and said to the crowd that followed Him, "I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!" (NKJ)
10 And those who were sent, returning to the house, found the servant well who had been sick. (NKJ)
THE MIRACLE TOOK PLACE. JESUS FOUND FAITH PRESENT
ANOTHER BLIND MAN ANOTHER JESUS STORY
Luke 18:35 Then it happened, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging.
Luke 18:38 And he cried out, saying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" (NKJ)
Luke 18:41 JESUS saying, "What do you want Me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, that I may receive my sight."
42 Then Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight; [your faith] has made you well." (NKJ)
WHAT DID JESUS SAY ACCOMPLISHED THIS? THIS VERSE SAYS, QUOTE JESUS, "YOUR FAITH"
43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed Him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God. (NKJ)
I LIKE THAT WORD IMMEDIATELY, DON'T YOU? BINGO, IT'S A DONE DEAL.
>> AFTER JESUS << DID FAITH REMAIN IN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE? FOR THE ANSWER TO THAT WE WILL GO TO THE BOOK OF ACTS, THE CHURCH AGE MEANING US, THIS IS THE AGE THAT WE ARE LIVING IN NOW.
Acts 3:2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;
3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.
4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us."
5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.
WE ARE AT VERSE 6
Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, [rise up and walk."]
7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. (NKJ)
HERE COMES THAT WONDERFUL WORD IMMEDIATELY AGAIN, “from his mother's womb,” take note, he is a man now, HE HAS BEEN THIS WAY FROM HIS MOTHERS WOMB BORN THAT WAY.
8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them-- walking, leaping, and praising God. (NKJ)
PETER EXPLAINS HOW THIS WAS ABLE TO HAPPEN IN VERSE 16
Acts 3:16 "And His name, [through faith in His name,] has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of [you all.]
I WONDER IF THAT IS WHERE THE SOUTHERNERS GOT THE EXPRESSION [YOU ALL] FROM? "IN THE PRESENCE OF YOU ALL"
AND AS WE GO ON PETER TELLS THEM, DOESN'T HE?
HE, PETER, MAKES IT SIMPLE- "THROUGH FAITH IN HIS NAME"
THAT’S PETER NOW THIS IS PAUL IN LYSTRA CHAPTER 14 OF ACTS
Acts 14:8 And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked.NKJ
Acts 14:9 This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that [he had faith to be healed,]
10 said with a loud voice, "Stand up straight on your feet!" And he leaped and walked. (NKJ)
TAKE NOTE OF THE LAST TWO WORDS IN VERSE 8, "NEVER WALKED." THIS VERSE SAYS HE IS A MAN NOW. THIS IS THE SAME EXACT SETUATION THAT PETER MINISTERED TO BUT THIS TIME IT IS PAUL IN LYSTRA.
WE ARE IN THE NEW TESTAMENT, THE CHURCH AGE THIS IS TAKING PLACE 62 YEARS AFTER CHRIST HAS RISEN, THE YEAR 62ad. THIS IS THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH AGE.
BELIEVERS, WE ARE OF THAT CHURCH AGE NOW, THIS IS THE AGE WE ARE LIVING IN.
AGAIN, WE ARE THE CHURCH AGE THOSE OF US WHO ARE LIVING TODAY.
PETER SAID TO THE LAME MAN ACTS 3:6, "IN THE NAME OF JESUS CHRIST RISE UP AND WALK," AND VERSE 8 IT SAYS, "SO HE LEAPING UP, STOOD AND WALKED." WORDS OF FAITH ARE FOR THE CHURCH AGE TODAY.
PAUL IN LYSTRA “Stand up straight on your feet”
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
GOD’S WORD GIVES US MANY NUMEROUS EXAMPLES IN BOTH THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS OF THOSE THAT STOOD IN FAITH IN THE FAITH CHAPTER. HEBREWS CHAPTER 11
THIS CHAPTER IS REFERRED TO AS THE FAITH CHAPTER BECAUSE IT MAKES REFERENCE TO SOME OF THOSE THAT STOOD IN FAITH. CHAPTER 11 STARTS OUT BY DEFINING FAITH AND THE NEXT VERSES IDENTIFY THE GREAT MEN AND WOMEN OF FAITH. BECAUSE OF TIME RESTRANTS WE WILL COVER IT WITH A SHORT VERSION. IT COVERS THESE PEOPLE Abel Enoch Noah Abraham, Abraham believed God Sarah Isaac Jacob Joseph Moses Rahab. AND WHAT THEIR INDIVIDULE EXPERIENCES WERE. BECAUSE OF TIME RESTRANTS WE ARE DROPPING DOWN TO VERSE 32
** STOP
GO TO START
START* AT Hebrews 11:32 FOR THE SHORT VERSIONHebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible (NKJ). VERSE 4 OF HEBREWS CHAPTER 11
Hebrews 11:4 By faith [Abel] offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
5 By faith [Enoch] was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
7 By faith [Noah,] being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
8 By faith [Abraham] obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;
10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 By faith [Sarah] herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude-- innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. (NKJ)
Heb 11:17 By faith [Abraham,] when he was tested, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,
18 of whom it was said, "In Isaac your seed shall be called,"
19 concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from which he also received him in a figurative sense. (NKJ)
22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?
23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God.
24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. (NKJ)
Hebrews 11:20 By faith [Isaac] blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith [Jacob,] when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, and worshiped, leaning on the top of his staff.
22 By faith [Joseph,] when he was dying, made mention of the departure of the children of Israel, and gave instructions concerning his bones.
23 By faith [Moses,] when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command.
24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,
25 choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
26 esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
28 By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.
31 By faith the harlot [Rahab] did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. (NKJ)
``````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
*** START **** SHORT VERSION CONTINUE Hebrews 11:32
Hebrews 11:32 And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me to tell of [Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets:]
NEXT VERSE Hebrews 11:33 who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
35 Women received their dead raised to life again. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
VERSE 36 OF HEBREWS 11 Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment.
37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented--
38 of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And all these, having obtained a good testimony through faith, did not receive the promise,
40 God having provided something better for us, that they should not be made perfect apart from us. (NKJ)
```````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
NOW THIS IS WRITTEN BY HAROLD F. MOHN – AND IT IS TITLED “WITHOUT TRUE FAITH”
WITHOUT TRUE FAITH YOU ARE LIKE A SHIP TOSSED IN A STORM AT SEA, NOT KNOWING WHAT MAY BE YOUR COURSE AND LOST MOST HOPELESSLY. TRUE FAITH WILL WEATHER EVERY STORM, THOUGH DARK MAY BE YOUR PLIGHT. IT WILL DISPEL DESPAIR AND GLOOM, AND HELP YOUR FEARS ALLAY. TRUE FAITH WILL BRING YOU STRENGTH ANEW, TO FACE EACH DAWNING DAY.
Many of you may have already heard this story but some might not have: Two frogs fell into a deep cream bowl, one was an optimistic soul, but the other took the gloomy view. “We’ll drown,” he cried, without more ado, and with a lasting despairing cry, he flung up his legs and said good-by. The other frog with a steadfast grin, Quote “I can’t get out, but I won’t give in. I’ll just swim around till my strength is spent, then I’ll die the more content. Bravely he swam to work his scheme, and in his struggles began to churn the cream. The more he swam, his legs a flutter, the more the cream turned to butter. On top of the butter at last he stepped, and out of the bowl, he gaily hopped. What is the moral? It’s easily found; if you can’t hop out, keep swimming around!
THE LAST QUOTE I HAVE HERE.
MY WORD, MIXED WITH YOUR FAITH, IS THE MOST POWERFUL THING I'VE EVER CREATED.
THE HOLY SPIRIT SAID THIS TO THE CHURCH HERE AT RMMI
IN SUMMARY
WE HAVE COVERED MANY, MANY, SCRIPTURES IN THE WORD, (THE BIBLE), CONCERNING FAITH AND WE HAVE LEARNED WE MUST HAVE FAITH TO RECEIVE WHAT GOD HAS FOR US. JESUS SAID WE ALL HAVE A MEASURE OF FAITH AND OUR FAITH INCREASES BY HEARING AND READING THE WORD OF GOD AND CALLING THOSE THINGS THAT BE NOT AS IF THEY WERE. ROMANS 4:17
WE HAVE GONE OVER SOME OF JESUS MINISTRY WHEN HE WAS HERE ON EARTH AND HE HAS INSTRUCTED US BY WORD AND EXAMPLE, AND MADE IT CLEAR WHAT CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED WHEN A PERSON STANDS IN FAITH.
WE WENT TO THE NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH WHERE PETER AND PAUL MINISTERED TO INDIVIDULES THAT HAD NEEDS, THE LAME MEN, AND THE BLIND MEN. GOD HAS LAYED OUT SO MANY EXAMPLES BEFORE US. WE READ HIGHLIGHTS OF THE FAITH CHAPTER 11 OF HEBREWS, GREAT MEN AND WOMEN OF FAITH THE THINGS THAT THEY OVERCAME, IT IS SUCH AN ENCOURAGMENT TO US. READ CHAPTER 11 OF HEBREWS IN CONTEXT SOME TIME IT WILL ENCOURAGE YOU.
Thank you for allowing me to share this time with you and telling you what God has laid on my heart. You have all been very patient.
`````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````````
WE WILL CLOSE WITH THIS PRAYER.
This is Lee’s version of Numbers 6:24 through 26 using the word [us] instead of you] because I want to be included:
Numbers 6:24 "The LORD bless [us] you and keep [us] you;
25 the LORD make His face shine upon [us] you, and be gracious to [us] you;
26 the LORD lift up His countenance upon [us] you, and give [us] you peace." ' AMEN
Have a nice (day or evening or whatever the case may be.
----- If anyone would like prayer, the altar is open, and the pastors are here to pray with you and for you.
