Scriptures in New King James

1 Corinthians CHAPTER 12 verse one 1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:

Then drop down to verse seven

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,

9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,

10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. (NKJ)

There are nine of them and they are all different and given for the church body for profit of all as God wills.

Wayne Grudem B.A., M.Div, Ph.D. comments:

Paul calls for lives marked by humility and faithfulness in Christian relationships.  Just as the physical body is made up of many members, each with a different function, the church is a body of many members, but all closely related and constituting a unity in Christ, with each one having individual functions and responsibilities.  We are not to inflate our own position nor to begrudge others their office.

These verses in context with the other verses in The Living (paraphrased) Bible

Paraphrased meaning  A thought for a thought translation.

1 Corinthians  12:1-11

1{Spiritual Gifts--} And now, dear brothers and sisters, I will write about the special abilities the Holy Spirit gives to each of us, for I must correct your misunderstandings about them.

2 You know that when you were still pagans you were led astray and swept along in worshiping speechless idols.

3 So I want you to know how to discern what is truly from God: No one speaking by the Spirit of God can curse Jesus, and no one is able to say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.

4 Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all.

5 There are different kinds of service in the church, but it is the same Lord we are serving.

6 There are different ways God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work through all of us.

7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church.

8 To one person the Spirit gives the ability to give wise advice; to another he gives the gift of special knowledge.

9 The Spirit gives special faith to another, and to someone else he gives the power to heal the sick.

10 He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to know whether it is really the Spirit of God or another spirit that is speaking. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.

11 It is the one and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have. (NLT)

Here are a few, not all, comments made by Paul Walker, B.A., M.Div., M.Ed., Ph.D about the Holy Spirit Gifts and Power.

WORD OF WISDOM

Supernatural perspective to ascertain the divine means for accomplishing God’s will in given situations.

WORD OF KNOWLEDGE

Supernatural revelation of the divine will and plan.

Supernatural insight or understanding of circumstances or a body of facts by revelation: that is without assistance of any human resource but solely by divine aid.

FAITH

Supernatural ability to believe God without doubt.

Supernatural ability to combat unbelief.

Supernatural ability to meet adverse circumstances with trust in God’s messages and words.

GIFTS OF HEALINGS

Refers to supernatural healing without human aid.

WORKING OF MIRACLES

Supernatural power to intervene and counteract earthly and evil forces.

Literally means a display of power giving the ability to go beyond the natural.

Operates closely with the gifts of faith and healings to bring authority over sin, Satan, sickness and the binding forces of this age.

PROPHECY

Divinely inspired and anointed utterance.

Supernatural proclamation in a know language.

Manifestation of the Spirit of God not of intellect.

DISCERNING OF SPIRITS

Supernatural power to detect the realm of the spirits and their activities.

Implies the power of spiritual insight-supernatural revelation of plans and purposes of the enemy and his forces.

DIFFERENT KINDS OF TONGUES

Supernatural utterance in languages not known to the speaker: these languages may be existent in the world, revived from some past culture, or unknown in the sense that they are a means of communication inspired by the Holy Spirit.

 INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES

Supernatural power to reveal the meaning of tongues.

Functions not as an operation of the mind of man but as the mind of the Spirit.

Does not serve as a translation (interpreter never understands the tongue he is interpreting), but rather is a declaration of meaning.

When in an assembly bringing a message in tongues is a spiritual gift for spiritual edification of the church when accompanied by interpretation.

Praying in the Spirit/tongues unleashes the fire of The Holy Spirit.

5 Tips for Praying Always With All Prayer And Supplication In The Spirit

June 19, 2023

Pray in The Spirit/tongues without ceasing

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God so that you may stand against the devil’s wiles. 12 For we do not wrestle against Flesh and blood. Still, against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with preparing the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 always praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

5 Tips For Praying Always With All Prayer And Supplication In The Spirit

This article will discuss the benefits of praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. We will also provide you with tips on how to do so.

1: Pray Always With All Prayer And Supplication In The Spirit

1. God commands Christians to always pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit (Ephesians 6:18). This means that we should constantly pray with all of our hearts and mind. We should speak in tongues and prophesy.

2: Tongues as of fire

God also wants us to speak in tongues as a sign of our faith (1 Corinthians 14:17-19). When we speak in tongues, it’s a sign that God has filled us with His Spirit. This allows us to understand what others say, even if they do not know English, as we pray in the Spirit or tongues.

3: Filled with the Holy Spirit

The third benefit of always praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit is that we will have greater insight into God’s will for our lives and be able to minister to others Biblically.

4: Speaking in tongues and prophesying

We are always praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit benefits not only our spiritual life but also our earthly life. When we pray this way, it is like speaking two different languages—we can communicate with God on an entirely new level.

Praying in tongues or speaking in tongues means speaking inaudibly to God, a language that Only He can understand through the Spirit. When we pray in the Spirit, we tap into a powerful source of strength and guidance. We can pray for wisdom, understanding, and knowledge; we can intercede on behalf of others and give thanks for all the good things in our lives. Let us never give up on prayer but persevere in this vital spiritual discipline.

2: Read The Bible Every Day to understand the power of prayers.

People who read the Bible daily are more likely to pray regularly and feel closer to God. In addition, people who read the Bible had a strong sense of purpose and were more likely to pray periodically than those who lived without prayer.

A prayer is a powerful tool that can help us connect with God regularly and ask for His guidance and wisdom. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing and always to be ready to answer the hope that we have in Christ (1 Peter 3:15). When we read the Bible, it reminds us of the many prayers that God answered, and we see how He can use our prayers to work in our lives and the world. Therefore, prayer is a vital part of our relationship with God and something we should do daily.

The Bible is powerful and can change your life, especially in prayer. It is full of wisdom and guidance that can help you through any situation if you pray sincerely to God by faith. In addition, reading the Bible daily can help you grow closer to God and learn more about His will and other essential things He has planned for your life on earth.

3: Connect With God Through Prayer

Prayer is one of our most powerful tools to connect with God. When we pray, we open ourselves to His presence and allow Him to work. Prayer is a two-way conversation; He will also speak to us as we talk to God. As we always pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, His love and power will transform us.

Prayer is one of the most intimate things we can do with God. It is a conversation between Him and us. When we pray, we connect with God personally, and He hears our every word.

Prayer is a vital part of the Christian faith and a way to connect with God. When we pray, we talk to God and communicate with Him. We can pray for anything in our hearts, and He will listen. Prayer is a two-way conversation; He will answer our prayers according to His will.

When the day of Pentecost came, God filled the disciples with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke and prayed in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

4: Practice Patience and Wait for His Answer

Prayer is an integral part of the Christian faith, and it is crucial to always pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. However, it is also essential to be patient and wait for God’s answer. Sometimes God can answer prayers immediately, but sometimes we must wait for His perfect timing. Therefore, practice patience as you wait for His answer, and trust He will provide what you need in His perfect way and timing.

We should never give up hope, no matter how difficult our situation may be. God always hears our prayers, even if He doesn’t answer them immediately. We trust He knows what is best for us. His timing is perfect, and He will answer us in His way and in His own time.

We should always be patient when waiting for God’s answer to our prayers. Practice makes perfect, and the more we pray, the better we will become at it. Remember that God always hears us and knows what we need, even before we ask.

5: Make Time For God Daily In Prayer

No matter how busy our lives may be, it is essential to pray to God daily. We can stay connected with our Heavenly Father and keep His will at the forefront of our minds by taking just a few minutes to pray. When we always pray with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, we will receive His guidance and wisdom in all we do.

Set aside time for prayer, no matter how busy your day is. Prayer is vital to our relationship with God and should be a priority. By praying daily, we open ourselves to God’s guidance and wisdom. So make time for prayer each day, and see how God blesses you.

Make time for God in prayer, no matter how busy your day is. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit will help you stay focused on God and His will for your life. Don’t let the world distract you from spending time with the one who loves you most.

6: Let God Lead Your Prayer Life In The Spirit

No matter what you’re facing, God wants to hear from you. He invites you to come to Him with all your concerns, big and small. And He promises to meet you where you’re at. So don’t be shy about bringing everything to Him in prayer.

But how should you pray? The best way is to let the Holy Spirit guide you. He knows exactly what you need to say and how to say it. So, if you’re unsure what words to use, ask the Spirit to help you. He will always lead you in prayer in a way pleasing to God.

Prayer is a vital part of the Christian life, and it is essential to pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. When we do this, we let God lead our prayer life, and He will answer our prayers according to His will.

Prayer can feel like a mystery, no matter how long you’ve been a Christian. How do you know if you’re doing it right? What words should you use? The good news is that God isn’t looking for us to make everything perfect. Instead, he wants us to come to Him with open hearts and humble attitudes. So when you’re feeling lost in prayer, let God take the lead. He will guide your words and help you communicate with Him meaningfully and impactfully.

True worshippers worship God in Spirit and truth, constantly praying with all prayer and supplication. This is the only way to worship God and receive His blessings indeed.

7: Stay Focused, and Pray In tongues In Jesus’ Name.

The Bible teaches believers to pray in tongues in Jesus’ name.

First, it is a way to express our love and devotion to God.

Second, it is a way to intercede for others, including those who do not yet know Christ. Third, it is a way to build up our faith. And.

Fourth, it is a way to proclaim the gospel to the world. Praying in tongues is one of the most powerful things we can do as Christians, and we should never take it lightly.

Because the Spirit is willing, but the Flesh is weak. We are all susceptible to temptation, which can come in many directions. By staying watchful and prayerful, we can keep ourselves from succumbing to temptation and preserve our relationship with God.

When you pray, go into your room and shut the door since God sees in the secret place and will reward them openly those who pray in secret.
