ARE THERE ANY EXAMPLES OF DANCING IN THE WORD OF GOD  YES

  MIRIAM

Exodus 15:19 For the horses of Pharaoh went with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought back the waters of the sea upon them. But the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

Exodus 15:20 Then [[ Miriam the prophetess, ]] the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and [[ with dances. ]]

Exodus 15:21 And Miriam answered them: "Sing to the LORD, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea!" (NKJ)

ANOTHER EXAMPLE KING DAVID

2 Samuel 6:13 And so it was, when those bearing the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, that he sacrificed oxen and fatted sheep.

2 Samuel 6:14

14 Then [[ David danced ]] before the LORD with all his might, and David was wearing a linen ephod.

Ephod From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

etc.. Within the Bible, in the contexts where it is worn, the ephod is usually described as being linen, but did not constitute complete clothing of any kind, as the Books of Samuel describe David's wife Michal as taunting him for indecently exposing himself by wearing one.[1] Though some Bible translations insert the word 'only' before ephod (infering David was indecent), the book of 1 Chronicles states that David was "clothed with a robe of fine linen, as were all the Levites who bore the ark... [and] David also wore an ephod of linen," [NAS Bible translation; 1 Chronicles, 15:27] "and David was wearing a linen ephod" [NAS Bible translation; 2 Samuel, 6:14]. There appears to have been a strong religious and ceremonial implication to wearing an ephod, since the eighty-five priests at Nob are specifically identified as being the type of people who wore an ephod etc..

Comment:  Because of this scripture verse I have been told that David's clothing was not much of a covering at all.   But when you consider what is going on here that doesn't really make sense.  So I checked a little deeper into the word and found more in depth explanation  concerning this.

1 Chronicles 15:27 And David was clothed with a robe of fine linen, and all the Levites that bare the ark, and the singers, and Chenaniah the master of the song with the singers: David also had upon him an ephod of linen. (KJV)

2 Samuel 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet. (NKJ)

KING DAVID'S WIFE --- MICHEL ----

2 Sam 6:16 Now as the ark of the LORD came into the City of David, [[ Michal, ]] Saul's daughter, [[ looked ]] through a window [[ and saw ]] King [[ David leaping and whirling before the LORD; ]] and [[ she despised him in her heart. ]] (NKJ)

2 Sam 6:20 Then David returned to bless his household. And [[ Michal ]] the daughter of Saul came Out to meet David, and [[ said, ]] [[ "How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself ]] today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!"

2 Sam 6:21 So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD.

2 Sam 6:22

22 "And I will be even more [[ undignified ]] than this, and [[ will be humble in my own sight.]] But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor." (NKJ)

A quote from my former pastor teacher Dr. Chet Sapino who God used to teach me so many excellent things from the word.

GOD IS NOT LOOKING FOR DIGNIFIED PEOPLE. DIGNITY WILL GET YOU NO WHERE IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD.  GOD IS LOOKING FOR HUMBLE PEOPLE.  HUMILITY WILL TAKE YOU ALL THE WAY.

GOD WANTS PEOPLE WHO WILL WORSHIP HIM TO WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH.   GOD DOES NOT WANT HIS PEOPLE ALL BOUND UP.

More enlightenment  in the new testament, book of  Ephesians

Ephesians 5:18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
`

Jack Hayford BA, B.Th, DD, Litt Di, comments about verse 18 The tense of the Greek for be filled makes clear that such a Spirit-filled condition does not stop with a single experience, but is maintained by continually being filled as commanded here.

He further remarks that Psalms are scriptural lyrics in song; hymns are humanly inspired lyrics in song; spiritual songs are impromptu rhythmic lyrics given by the Holy Spirit in one's language or in "tongues" (see 1Cor.14:15)

Ephesians 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, (NKJ)

and again here he remarks about verse 19 Note the place of songful worship as a means to fulfilling the directive.

9-22-02 am service For behold I have given to you the keys of the kingdom, and one key that has been so effective in my house, is the key of praise. I have not given you the key of praise, that I could sit back and enjoy your praise and worship, but I have given it to you as a weapon against the enemy in this time. My word says put on the garment of praise. In this time and in this hour you cannot afford to take off that garment, for you need all the power that I can give you through this weapon. So sing and dance and give me praise, for the enemy flees, he cannot stay in the presence of praise. Use that weapon against him that you might have all the things that you need to survive in this day.

11-10-02 pm service Therefore, I say unto you this night, let your mouths be filled constantly, daily, hourly with praise unto me. Let it not be just the silent praise that comes forth from your thinking, but let it be that verbal praise that comes forth from your mouth. Let those praises be heard, for those praises not only are a joy to my heart, sayith your Father God, but those praises sound in the ears of the enemy, and oh, how they hurt. It is likened unto the high-pitched sound, that is so high that you can’t even hear it, that drives insects and animals crazy. So your praises, lifted up, lifted up verbally, lifted up in voice, sounds like that in the ears of the enemy, and oh, how he covers his ears and quickly flees. So let your praises be constantly be in your mouth, even as the psalmist said, I will praise the Lord continually, his praise shall continually be in my mouth. So let it be with you my children, and yes, you shall truly walk in that great victory.
