ONE THING I AM CERTAIN OF THAT DAVID DIDN'T HAVE IN HIS GENERATION. THIS GENERATION I AM LIVING IN IS GOING TO BE RESURRECTED OUT OF HERE. WHATEVER I LEAVE BEHIND WILL BE TO THE BENEFIT OF THE DEVIL AND HIS BOYS.  MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN ARE SAVED.   THEY ARE GOING WITH ME.

     TESTIMONY TIME

My former pastor  in Syracuse, NY gave this testimony in church one Sunday morning.  He said that in his early walk with the Lord one week he didn't give to God.   He reasoned that he had many expenses at that time and he needed the money.   Later on in the week he experienced three things that came against his finances and one I remember him saying had to do with his car breaking down.  He cried out to the Lord and asked what was going on and the Lord said to him "if I can't have it you can't have it either."

Does this word from the Holy Spirit line up with the written word?

Jesus Personally Endorsed Tithing  Let us now hear our Lord’s opinion of tithing.  He clearly gave it His personal approval, for He told the scribes and Pharisees that they most surely ought to pay tithes.

Matthew 23:23   Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. (KJV)

This pastor taught on tithing and ministered in the power of the Holy Spirit.   I was tithing, so I thought, and by the power of the Holy Spirit one Sunday morning the pastor had a word for me.   Right in front of everybody the spirit of God said "you have robbed me."  Brother I tell you I would have liked to melted and disappeared into thin air.  I was so embarrassed.  I'll bet my face was red.  It turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened in my life.  I had to examine myself.   I had been tithing in every area of my finances but one.  I had one thing going that was a losing  proposition.  I had to put money into it every month to keep it going and I didn't tithe on the income this enterprise did bring in.  Well I am here to tell you I did after that and the circumstances in this area turned around and came up on the plus side.  Not only that blessing but later on one Sunday morning this same pastor had a word from the Lord for me and God said "I am going to give you a financial blessing and soon.'  In my heart I said thank you Father God.  We came home from church that day, had Sunday dinner and the phone rang.  I received a gift, some land given to me that later on I sold.  I tell you God is Good and it pays to go to a church where the spirit of God is free to move and bring correction.   I have been abundantly, supernaturally, financially blessed for many  years now.  PRAISE GOD!  HE HONORS HIS WORD ABOVE ALL HIS NAME.

When it comes to giving some people will stop at nothing.

Funny how a $20.00 bill looks so big when you take it to church, but so small when you take it to the mall.

In his sermon on August 2005 Revivalist  Terry Sisney "Can You Stand To Be Blessed" pointed out some scripture that could in many instances be applied to finances.   Here are some of them.

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

Job 8:7 Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.
Ps 115:14
The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

Prosperity is not a rebellion against dependence upon God, "Prosperity is the rewards of life lived in dependence and recognition of God.  Prosperity is the will of God." Terry Sisney

3 John 2 Beloved,
I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Psalms 1:3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

2 Chronicles 20:20 Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets,
so shall ye prosper.

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

Don't overlook that there is a condition with this one.
Deuteronomy  29:9
Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

Terry points out: It Blesses God When You Prosper*
Ps 35:27 Let the LORD be magnified, which
hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.

Job 36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
Ps 118:25 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

Terry says: The devil hates to see Gods people prosper
Psalms 112:1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3
Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Ps 112:10 (The wicked shall see it, and be grieved) he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

-  ><>  -  ><>  -   -  <><  -  <><  -

Terry points out: Prosperity is not a miracle or a mystery It is the result of obedience to the principles of sowing and reaping.
2 Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which
soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

In his book “It’s not working brother John” by John Avanzini in one of the twenty five topics he discusses tithing.  This is part of what is mentioned.

“The Early New Testament Church Tithed”

“For many years I believed the words of Jesus in Matthew were the last ones in Scripture of about tithing.  I had always heard bible teachers say there was no record of anyone tithing in any of the New Testament epistles, I held this opinion until I found a portion of Scripture that plainly states that tithes were being received thirty-five years after the death of Jesus.  I hope you are paying attention to what you are reading.  The author of Hebrews wrote the verse I speak of thirty-five years after the death of Christ.  That puts tithing well into the New Testament Church age.”

“In the book of Hebrews, the writer spoke of the time Abraham gave tithes to Melchizedek (Genesis 14).  He explained who Melchizedek actually was.  Then he made a most significant statement.  The writer said New Testament saints were paying tithes at that very moment (A.D. 65).”

Heb 7:8     And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

(KJV)  Here and There We must better understand two words from that verse so that we can totally grasp their significance.  They are the words here and there.  The word here is the translation of the Greek word hode.  The Strong’s concordance gives it the number 5602 and is emphatic as to its meaning, “in this same spot.  The writer was saying, Here, in this same spot where I stand, men who die receive (present tense) tithes.”  According to the dating by Usher,* the author write this thirty-three to thirty-five years after Christ’s death.  This reference in Hebrews can mean only that it was a common practice for Christians to pay tithes in early New Testament churches.  The other word I want you to focus on is there.  It is the Greek word ekei, number 1563 in Strong’s concordance.  This word speaks not only of another time, but also of another place.  Maybe if I paraphrase Hebrews 7:8, we can better see its true meaning:  And here, in A.D.65, on the spot where men who die are receiving tithes, but in that distant time and in another place, He (Melchizedek) received tithes of whom we have witness that He still lives.

According to the verses we have studied in this chapter, it is still the responsibility of every born-again Christian to tithe.  The shame of shames is, even with all of this proof that tithing is for our day, it remains one of the most violated commandments.

The above paragraph was in John Avanzini’s book is titled “Not Tithing Costs the Saints, Not God.   Interesting.
