/ / BAPTISM of the HOLY SPIRIT \\
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, (NKJ)
The baptism of the Holy Spirit. WHY?
Let's look directly in God’s word. Man can say this. Man can say that. So much for man. What does God’s word say? You can take that to the bank.
Psalms 119:89 Forever, O LORD, your word is settled in heaven. (NKJ)

1 Corinthians 14:2 For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. (NKJ)
1 Cor 14:4a He who speaks in a tongue [[ edifies]] himself, (NKJ)
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also [[ helps in our weaknesses ]]. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself [[ makes intercession]] for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (NKJ)
Look at this. Praying in the spirit (tongues) can make us stronger.
Jude 1:20 But you, beloved, [[ building yourselves up]] on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, (NKJ)
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:18 I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; (NKJ)
Romans 8:27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints [[ according to the will of God ]]. (NKJ)
There are times when you may not know what God’s perfect will is in a certain circumstance. Praying in the spirit allows you to line up perfectly in God’s will.

Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit for me?
Are you a believer If so, Jesus said:
Mark 16:17 "And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues (NKJ)
- ><> - ><> - - <>< - <>< -
If you are a believer this is a sign that should be following you.
Jesus expects you, believer, to seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

WHEN?
Again let’s go to an example in the word
In Acts 11:13 chapter eleven Peter is telling his friends what happened at Cornelius house.
13 "And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, 'Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,
14 'who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.'
15 "And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.
16 "Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, 'John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.'
17A "If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us [[ when we believed ]] on the Lord Jesus Christ, (NKJ)
In verse 17 Peter said (the gift of the Holy Spirit) was given "when we believed"
How about that, there is no waiting period to receive the gift.
If you are a believer the time is NOW.

HOW?
MY TEACHER AND FORMER PASTOR, DR. CHET SAPINO, LED MANY INTO THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER. READING:
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 8:14 Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,
Acts 8:15 who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
Acts 8:16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 8:17 Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Acts 10:46a For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.

Now that was Peter and John now look at Paul
Acts 19:1 And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples
2 he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you
believed?" So they said to him, "We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit."
3 And he said to them, "Into what then were you
baptized?" So they said, "Into John's
baptism."
4 Then Paul said, "John indeed baptized with a baptism of
repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus."
5 When they heard this, they were
baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And
when Paul had laid hands on
them, the Holy Spirit came upon
them, and they spoke
with tongues and prophesied. (NKJ)
Luke 11:9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Luke 11:10 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
Luke 11:13 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" (NKJ)
- ><> - ><> - - <>< - <>< -
ARE YOU OPEN TO RECEIVE?
PRAY: PRAY A PRAYER TO THE LORD. GIVE YOUR LIFE COMPLETELY TO JESUS. ASK HIM TO SEARCH YOUR HEART FOR ANY UNCONFUSED SIN, SAY " LORD I WILL DO WHATEVER YOUR HOLY SPIRIT DIRECTS ME TO DO."
THEN: RAISE YOUR HANDS UP AND SAY " LORD JESUS PLEASE BAPTIZE ME IN THE HOLY SPIRIT. I WANT TO SPEAK IN TONGUES RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU FOR FILLING ME WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT."
